Elizabeth Grace, MD, FAAFP, CPE Past-President

Dr. Grace is a board-certified family physician and the Medical Director of CPEP, the Center for Personalized Education for Physicians, a not-for-profit physician assessment and education center.  Dr. Grace directs the clinical aspects of CPEP services including Assessment and Education Services, Reentry to Clinical Practice Program, Practice Monitoring Program, and continuing medical education courses. She has helped developed and served as a lead faculty member of several of CPEP’s intensive, skill-building courses, in topics ranging from patient care documentation to professionalism, communication and prescribing.  Dr. Grace has spoken at national meetings on topics related to physician competence and reentry to practice, and has written peer-reviewed articles related to these topics.  Most recently, she has assumed an active role in efforts to address the prescription drug abuse crisis in Colorado.  She is a member of the Colorado Medical Society Committee on Prescription Drug Abuse, the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention, and the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Prescription Drug Monitoring Program’s Speakers Bureau.

Dr. Grace attended medical school at the State University of New York at Syracuse, graduating magna cum laude. She completed her residency in family medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. More recently, she earned a graduate certificate in physician ethics and professionalism through a collaborative program of the American Medical Association and Medical College of Wisconsin.
